The High Court of Delhi on Thursday pulled up the American global online video sharing and social media platform YouTube for not regulating its content over a petition filed by Aaradhya Bachchan, granddaughter of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, over fake news circulated on her health. The Single-Judge Bench of Justice C. Harishankar said YouTube’s ‘no tolerance policy’ was faulty. Every video uploaded on the money-making platform brought them revenue. It asked YouTube whether it had any responsibility. High Court, while issuing interim directions, said Google LLC is duty-bound in law to ensure strict compliance with the entire statutory regime relating to intermediaries with which it is governed which includes IT Rules 202 Earlier on Wednesday, Aaradhya, daughter of Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan, moved the High Court against multiple YouTube channels for reporting fake news about her health.
